I managed to solve the problems with my Linux install and the audio is now perfect.<br /><br />I think the problem Spotify has is that because their free offering is so good they are going to have to provide something pretty amazing for most people to pay an extra £10 a month. I can't really see what that can be. After all how many ways can you improve the way music is supplied. Just as a quick edit to my comment above. Why wouldn’t they release any succesful development of Libspotify to non subscribers too. Are you sure it will only be open to subscribers?

I’m interested because I’m currently trying out a Linux OS (Ubuntu) as my sole OS. One of the only things I’m missing / having problems with from Windows at the moment is Spotify.

I’ve managed to install it pretty easily under WINE, but it isn’t that smooth and there seems to be a reduction in audio quality which occasional small stutters. If I knew a proper supported version was around the corner I’d be interested to know more about it.
